Misted Units
A ‘misted’ unit is whenever condensation appears between the two panes of glass, a failure which can occur for a variety of reasons – often as a result of improper fitting and/or buying the cheapest product at the lowest price.
Sometimes it’s just the length of time the windows have been installed and the vacuum between the two panes has been compromised by wear and tear. Regrettably in these cases, we don’t have a magic wand and there’s no realistic alternative but replacement. We offer argon filled double glazed units for a small additional cost, over that of conventional units.
Argon is a colourless, odourless, non-flammable, non-reactive, inert gas. Argon gas fills reduce heat loss in our sealed units by slowing down convection inside the air space. As air itself is a good insulator, filling the gap between the glass panes with a low-inductivity gas such as argon improves window performance by reducing conductive and convective heat transfers. This phenomenon results from the fact that the density of the gas is greater than the density of the air.
This combination of Argon Gas and low-e energy saving glass alone can achieve an improvement in thermal performance in the region of 50% over and above that of a standard sealed unit.

Roofline – Fascia / Soffits & Guttering. The fascia board is the long, straight board that runs along the lower edge of the roof. The fascia is fixed directly to the roof trusses and usually does all the work of supporting the bottom row of tiles and carrying all the guttering The soffit board is tucked away under the fascia board. It is usually the board that you see most of from street level. The soffit can be ventilated to allow the flow of air into the roof area. Alternatively ventilation can be provided over the top of the fascia board. Many people prefer the latter solution these days. Without adequate ventilation, condensation will form in the roof void increasing the risk of timber decay.
